Sylving Update, Bad & Good News

Hi, everyone!

So, bad news; good news; bad news; good news!

First up, as much as I hate to say it, the project’s timeline is gonna be extending even further. Toward the end of Chapter 3, I decided that Sylving was something I wanted to be entirely mine, and I wanted to push myself as hard as I could to make something amazing with almost no outside assistance.

As a result, my co-writer, Dodoki, graciously stepped away from the project and left me to my devices. Months of toil, stress, and frustration later, I’ve come to realize that I’m really just not cut out for writing (Maybe someday)! Worldbuilding, flow, syntax, brevity–all these things that Doki had been pushing were things I thought I could do just fine on my own. But oh boy was I wrong. And while I’m sure I could eventually get the hang of it, I’d like to have Chapter 4 rolled out before 2030.

Thing is, Sylving was my baby, and while it’s been really hard to admit it, if I want this VN to be as good as I think it should be, I’m gonna need some help.

So there’s the first good news: After a big heart to heart with Dodoki, he’s accepted my request to step in as the main writer for Sylving–working to take my ideas and weave them into a much more enjoyable, digestible story!

Bad news is that means I have no idea what’s gonna happen with the current Chapter 4 script. I gave it my best, but it really just doesn’t meet the standards I feel Sylving can reach. More than that, I want you guys to be able to read the best story I can create.

Good news is that things have already gotten into motion. Chapter 3 is actually gonna have some substantial revamping, and then from there Chapter 4 should hopefully be able to get moving at a good pace, since about half of the art assets are made and ready to go!

Again, be aware that there’ll be no set timeline moving forward, because I’ve learned this project doesn’t do well when it’s rushed.

Whew! That was a lot. Thanks for reading, and thanks for caring about my little passion project!

And of course, If you’ve got any questions, feel free to comment below.

You can not bloom good ideas without lots of input. Read more stories and mark down what interests you; it will give you ideas sooner or later.

I do hope you and your (ex-cowritter, now main-writer) do good with this novel. I belive in the both of your abilities :D

Can anyone share ideas for Sylving for support?

Death by Snu Snu! Big cheeks crushing us into fine powder :)

Joking! But maybe if something good pops up, I'll put it here.

such as?

I don't know yet, and that's why I'm not a writer (yet) ^^'

Don't feel bad! it's alright to get help from others as well! let Dodoki help as much as he can and get more help too! and some advise, don't take too long, people can lose interest (i've seen it before) take your time but remember it dose not need to be perfect ^^ just be happy!

I don't want to pressure you at all! I just want to know if a translation into Spanish or other languages would be possible in the future? I love your work so much, you are incredible!! take your time!!

It's going to be worth the wait, slow and steady makes for the best creative flow. I write fantfiction myself and I find setting aside time to toss around ideas with someone helps a lot. Take it easy when you can and just know, I'll still be here when Chapter 4 does officially come out.

"Good luck, man! Slow and steady wins the race."🖤🔥🎇

as a writter, i must say this thing is difficult AF. There is so much you have to do and check (and re-check like a dozen times) it is absolutely ok to take a while before proceeding. you world is amazing, and the story that you are trying to bring to us is worth it.

Classic Dodoki W

Even if you are not the main writer anymore, you could still proofread from time to time to ensure that the story, characters and flow follow what you originally intended them to be. I think this is a more efficient way of doing it if you aren't confident with your own writing skills yet plus the fact that you had to spend a considerable amount of time on the art.

I love this VN and I hope you get to successfully complete it just like how you envisioned it.

don't worry, we'll be working closely together. I'm trying to be more lose over the writing, but I'll make sure it's still within how I invision the story as a whole to be.

thank you!

I'm really happy to read you love this project, and you will do whatever you need to make it reach it's full potential! Take all the time you need!

Take as much time as you'd need; Id rather have one good steak than 40 shitty ones that I don't like

That was my attempt at an analogy I hope I di that well :3
